Great feedback everyone, once again I really appreciate it. I believe from the research I have done and the level of finishes I would like to have in the home I've decided to have the forced air system installed. Thanks again!

This is great feedback everyone, thank you for you input. Just to clarify on some of the points that people have made. The gas company will bring gas into the meter from the street for free (given that a gas appliance will be installed). Also the prices of homes in the area are selling anywhere from 150000 to 190000. Lastly my thoughts were to just keep them and not worry about a furnace and like was mentioned provide a credit to the future buyer. However the basement is unfinished and to be competitive in the area I should finish the basement and if the basement were finished the install price for the future home owner would be substantially more because the ceiling in the basement would have to be cut and patched. Any more input is welcomed. Thanks!

Hi everyone, my wife and I are currently working on a live in flip. We are doing really well on keeping cost down however we have come to a point where we need to make a decision on heat. At the moment we have small electric wall heaters in each room. They provide decent heat and are not terribly expensive to run. Our other option would be to have a natural gas forced air system installed that would run about 5800 dollars. The basement is unfinished at the moment which would make for an easy install. The houses in the neighborhood are split about 50/50 on their heat sources. Ultimately I guess my question is, would it be money well spent to have the furnace installed or a waste?

Hi everyone,

My name is Adam Smith I live in eastern Idaho and will be graduating early next year with a bachelors in construction management. I love the construction and real estate industry, and If I wanted aa management position in commercial construction or residential I would have it, no problem. Companies are going crazy right now looking to staff their projects. What I am really looking for is a career that will expand my existing knowledge of real estate investing. I think the best way to achieve this would be to get a job that had me doing the day to day activities that successful investors do. Which is why I am reaching out here on bigger pockets. I don't want to be the type of person that just takes, I want to add value to whatever business entity or individual I work for. If anyone is aware of an opportunity like this or just needs someone who will hustle to learn the industry let me know and we can talk. Thanks so much!

Hi everyone,

Short time member here,I hope that the placement of this post is acceptable. If not please let me know. I am a construction management student in Idaho. For one of my business classes I have been asked to do a short interview with a real estate investment company that has 50 employees or less and does under 10 million in revenue annually. I could either give you a call or send you an e mail with the questions. The questions are mostly about business structure and your satisfaction with your career. If there is anyone who would be willing to let me have a few minutes of their time it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Adam Smith

Hello everyone! My name is Adam Smith I am 24 years old and I am a full time student at the moment pursuing a degree in construction management. I have been in the construction industry since I was about 14 and I have developed a passion for it. I love the opportunity that the real estate industry offers and the feeling of accomplishment that come along with it. I would like to get into single family home fix and flips and also income properties, any advice on those subjects is great.  I have wanted to get into real estate investment for quite a few years now and feel like I have just been spinning my wheels. I hope that is all about to change with the discovery of this great site. I am well versed in residential construction and the building process and have had a bit of experience as a home inspector as well, if I can help anyone in any way please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks everyone!
