So the agent just sent me the claim document which is 28 pages. Showed the restoration was done by a professional company specializing in water damage. The only concern I have now is it mentions cat 3 water which has all type of definitions on the web. Should I ask how did a cat 3 water get inside a house where there is no river or ocean etc.

Thank you very much Jeff and Aron. Inspection will go out this week. I will make sure they look for water damage. 

I will also call insurances to find out morem. Seller will be proving the details and the receipts for the work done. Again your help is really appreciated. 

Hi everyone I am not an investor just a first time home buyer for personal use. We found a single family home in Riverside CA. Seller did not disclose any water damage but the insurance says there was a water damage claim on it last year and for that reason the deductible will be high. The house looks pretty good with no visible damage. 

Is a house with water damage a bad idea period?

Does the value of this house still decrease if the damage was fixed properly?
