Kissimmee, FL is a great zone for STR. It is one of the only STR permitted areas that is pretty close to Disney and the airport. Also, Florida is definitely taking off this year!

This is certainly an area that has been peaking my interest as of lately!

I know how to use this site, thanks

Going into the new year, what cities are you eyeing for your next STR investment?

Condotels at places like Worldquest, Floridays, Lake Burns Vista Resort and more are going for just over $100k. I understand that HOAs are high, but it seems like there is still cash flow opportunity at those prices?

Does anyone have any insight into this?

@Chris Carr Do you recommend purchasing land in the area and building or purchasing an existing structure? Seems like raw land is very affordable in the area

@Ryan Moyer the post included in @Chris Carr’s comment pretty much sums it up! Prices of homes compared to occupancy rates and average nightly rental value are the main metrics I’ve been looking at

Hi all,

I am currently exploring potential markets for a STR via Airbnb. The Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms market stands out to me. Does anyone have STR experience in this area and how has that been going for you? Any alternative options you'd recommend looking into? Thanks!

@Ariela H. thank you Ariela! I’ll be sure to reach out closer to the completion of our condo next year as we evaluate PM options.

Sorry for not being more specific. I’ve found properties within the 190 - 210 range expected to average between $2,500 - $3,500.

What sort of returns can be expected in Pigeon Forge/Orlando?

Hi everyone, I’ve been studying STRs in Hawaii (Waikiki specific) lately and am curious to see why so many advise against this?

I do understand that HOA is high and there are many restrictions on Short Term Rentals but from my conversations there seems to be many buildings in Waikiki that do allow for STRs that have great cash flow potential.

I used to live on Oahu and from my discussions with those on the island a 300+ sq foot condominium in Waikiki ranging anywhere from $180,000 - $300,000 can yield anywhere from $2,500 - $4,000 a month. Those seem like great returns even with the HOA surcharge. Would love to gain some more insight from those with experience

Note: I am aware of the difference between fee simple and leasehold. The figures above are specifically for fee simple
