Welcome to the realm of real estate, and best of luck with your test!

This platform is truly excellent for networking and building connections. I also recommend joining local Facebook groups

 Thanks!

Quote from @Luis Maqueira:

It’s all about who you surround yourself with. I started as a rookie, then became a realtor, then a flipper, and now a multifamily investor.

Go to YouTube—watch Tom Ferry, Mike Ferry, and real estate trainers. See what you would do better if you were starting over. That’s how you learn and find your path.

See the difference—am I advising you or selling you?

Go to local real estate meetups. That’s where you’ll meet people actually doing deals today—not the ones sitting at home watching bad news or "getting ready" for years, hoping one day they’ll finally be ready.

This is gold! Surrounding yourself with the right people is everything in real estate and in life. It’s easy to get stuck in the 'getting ready' phase, but action and proximity to those making moves are what separate dreamers from doers.
Watching top trainers like Tom Ferry and attending local meetups isn’t just about learning—it’s about stepping into the mindset of an investor, realtor, or flipper and actually making things happen. Thanks for the solid advice, Luis! Time to get out there and network with people who are closing deals, not just talking about it!
Quote from @Nathan Gesner:

Cheaper doesn't mean you'll make more money. People go to a broker like EXP because of low splits, but you get what you pay for. You need to focus on a brokerage with solid training and support. It doesn't matter what the fees are if you aren't selling anything.

Most agents think they need to "build a network" and that will bring clients. A better option is to strengthen your existing network and ask them for referrals.

I appreciate your comment, but right now I need a broker that allows me to work remotely. That's why I'm leaning more towards EXP.

Quote from @Clayton Silva:

This is a good place to start.

1) Education: be the most knowledgeable agent in your area and start to host meet ups or something that can establish credibility.

2) I would find a low transaction/fee-based brokerage like EXP or a brokerage that does not charge a heavy annual fee.  Look for one with established market presence and good reviews...company/brokerage reviews will impact yours.

3) Find a mentor who is where you want to be in 5 years and do whatever you can to be near them or learn from them.

I was thinking about Exp too

Hi everyone! I’m Ariam from Miami, I'm an aspirant for new real estate salesman (finishing pre licencing course). I’m just getting started and would love some advice on how to kick things off the right way. What are the best first steps for someone like me? I’m also looking for recommendations on choosing a broker as a rookie—any tips on what to look for or red flags to avoid? Lastly, I’d really appreciate ideas on building my network from scratch. Thanks in advance for any insights.

And which are the best neighborhoods in Oklahoma to invest in?
