A kitchen is the most intensive area of a home to remodel. You have many different subcontractors working in one room. There are electricians, plumbers, the general contractor's crew, cabinet installers, etc.

To get a better sense of what a kitchen remodel would cost, you need to have an exact idea of what finishes, appliances, fixtures are going to be used. Are walls being moved? Then you need permits and most likely a structural engineer.

Saying that you want a full kitchen remodel is like saying you want a new four door sedan. That could be anything from a Toyota Corolla to a Bentley Flying Spur.

In order to have an apples to apples comparison, the scope of the work needs to be crystal clear with little to no wiggle room for the contractor to hit your in laws with "change orders".

Yup. Sounds like we're in the same boat.

Yes. I am signed up for the flip 2 freedom academy. I am eager to see and learn new things. Hopefully all that information translates to a huge market like Los Angeles.

Hi everyone-

I discovered wholesaling a month or two ago by downloading Sean Terry's book on my iPad a few months ago. I devoured it in a day or two and immediately started listening to his podcasts. While I haven't listened to all of the podcasts, I've listened to enough to make me more than a little curious.

I live in Los Angeles, where the real estate market has taken it on the chin the past four years. I also work in architecture so I am familiar with construction and design. The profession of architecture has been in flux and and it seems like i should broaden my horizons. I love the profession, I just don't enjoy the downward pressure on salaries and competition for crappy jobs.

I'm also technically savvy. I've setup a few websites and find it easy and dare I say fun to do. I also know how to use Google Ad Words, Google analytics, Aweber, etc. So I know I can do the legwork to set up and market a succesful wholesaling practice. I take a lot of pride in doings things myself, so I would learn the in and outs the hard way.

Aside from the inexperience of actually not having done a move, I'm unsure if L.A. is a good market for wholesaling or not. What is everyone's experience with the Los Angeles market? My biggest fear is that I am spinning my wheels. The older I get, the more precious my time becomes.
