I saw a post from 3 years ago suggesting a couple of management companies. I am looking for up-to-date insight on reliable rental management companies in Lexington area for a single family home. I’ll appreciate your input.

Hello all, I’m considering a deal in Lexington, KY, but I want opinions on the neighborhood. The house is off North Limestone and close to New Circle. It is approximately 0.8 of a mile from some of the trendier existing businesses. It’s my impression that the area is growing, and I see houses here and there that are being flipped. If the numbers are as indicated, it would cash flow, but does anyone know if this area is worth buying in? I don’t feel it’s growing as fast as other parts of Lexington, so it feels more like a gamble. Also, I’ve heard being a land lord in Lexington is more challenging than other cities, such as Indy or Kansas City, MO. This will be my first investment property, so I want to be especially careful. I’ll appreciate your input. Thank you! Katie

Boise does sparkle. I guess I'm truly just torn between starting in a city that's great for investing such as Kansas City, MO or starting somewhere I'd like, such as Boise.

I am always on the road for work, so I am in the perfect position to purchase a duplex or small home that I can build equity into and rent out while absent. The only trouble is where. I'm not very family oriented and already go from place-to-place so anywhere I move will just be about the same socially, though I do have more friends on the East coast. I like outdoor activities, but of course all the mountainous cities are way out of my price range. I just want a modest home where I can build equity, get help paying the mortgage while not living there, and ultimately, when I quit traveling, I'll have a home. Places I've considered are Greenville, SC, Boise, ID, Fayetteville, AR, Richmond, VA, and truly the list goes on. Does anyone have an opinion on a growing but still affordable market that would match my outdoor lifestyle? Looking forward to any responses! Thanks!
