It must be on the house meter.  I have 7 meters for the building.  6 apartments plus the common area meter

I currently have 6 apartments in a building.  There was room to add 2 more apartments where a store front used to be.  I can not seem to get a straight answer from the electric company to a ball park price to add the two new meters.  Does anyone know about how much a new meter costs?

I currently own a 6-plex in a 10,000 sq ft building.  There was 1200 sq ft of open space that used to be a store.  Im building 2 additional apartments using this space.  Im wondering if anyone knows the cost of adding 2 additional electric meters to the house.  National Grid will not give a quote over the phone without filling out a work order.  My dilemma is I may just keep them on the house meter if its too much.  I just need a ball park quote.

I closed on a 6plex on 1/31 after a 5 month lengthy closing.  We are in the dead of winter here in buffalo ny.  Long story short, after owing the property for 5 days I started getting calls from tenants saying their heat wasn't working.  I went up there and there were error codes that I was able to clear and reset the boiler and everything was fine until the next night.  I did this for the next two nights until yesterday I couldn't get the boiler to power back up.  I called a tech and they told me it was time for new boiler. (this boiler was from 2008)  Spent 8,000 in the first week of owner ship.  I had a home inspection.  I was very apologetic about the whole thing to my tenants (4 of the apartments run on the same boiler) they were quick to tell me that this has been happening long before you took over.  My question is is the previous owner liable at all?

I was wondering if buying all brand new appliances for 5 apartments would be tax deferred because of a capital improvement. I didn’t think so but an employee at lowes told me it was.
