Hi @Thomas K., Welcome to BP. I am new here as well. I went to my first REIA meeting a few weeks ago and I'm looking forward to attending more. Perhaps we will meet. I have been to the one at the Sheraton Dulaney Valley. @Account Closed thank you for your advice. I'm on track with those tips so far regarding criteria and financing.

@Tanya Jackson I know how you feel. I am in the process of doing a lot of reading and listening to podcasts. My goal is to start with a local flip in Baltimore area/Parkville, MD. @Shawn Holsapple thank you for the reading list. So far I've read the Book on Flipping Houses by J. Scott, The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing (Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner), the Book on Investing in Real Estate with No and Low Money Down. Currently on The Millionaire Real Estate Investor by Gary Keller. There seem to be so many good books that the challenge is to  determine when to stop reading, and start doing! I feel I need to start building/networking for a team first- realtor, attorney, general contractor, BEFORE starting my search for a property. What do you all think? @Mike H. I am looking forward to connecting with my local REIA's. I've been to one so far. Hard to balance everything you want to do to learn, aside from the full time job.

@Zamir Kazi that happened to me (property taken off list) for an online auction in FL, Lehigh Acres area. I had researched the area, used propertysnapshots.com to view the property and take updated photos (you can also use a local realtor if you wish). looked at the comps, and had my bid, but it was off the list the next day. From what I know, you are not allowed to inspect the inside property.

Hello,

I am new to these forums. I am eager to learn and be prepared as much as possible prior to getting into the fix and flip area of real estate locally. My name is Angie, and my primary occupation is as a physical therapist. I have been renting out what used to be my primary residence in Baltimore City since 2007, and I have fixed up and sold one property back in 2004 with a partner. I would like to learn as much as possible about the Baltimore/surrounding area and get my feet with my first fixer property this year. My wife and I will be working this business together. I'm excited to learn as much as I can. I've read about 2-3 books so far on real estate investing and flipping, but I know I can learn a lot more before I start.
