Good evening all,

My name is Andy (25 years old) and I was hoping I can get some advice or suggestions from you all. I graduated in 2018 with a (BS) in Construction Management and a minor in Criminal Justice. I was in the construction industry for 2 years as a Field Engineer and Project Engineer and got out of it to get into real estate. However, I landed a job as an assistant in management service company and I am not happy here but have also been able to think about what I really want.

I am now hoping to get back into the Construction Industry as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Office Engineer, or Estimator. However, I am looking to stay in San Diego and work with a smaller contractor that specializes in residential homes (SFH, Condos, Multi-Family, etc.) and able to be around like minded people that invest and are always striving for more. I have an updated resume and would be willing to share that to show you my experience. Do any of you know of some good San Diego Residential Contractors?

Thank you all in advance!

@Trevor Haney

Thank you. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to comment and give some advice. I’ll be sure to message Donald.

Also, what is I have an agent and I’m super picky and descriptive, but then I don’t end up buying any property? Is that frowned upon and does it screw over my agent. I’m just curious since I’ve never gone through this process.

@Maxwell Ventura

That is all great information to know. Thank you for that Maxwell and thank you for taking time to reply.

Yeah, I’m definitely looking to start talking to a lender or brokers. You have any good recommendations for lenders or brokers? I’m looking to get pre-approved and see what my options are.

Also, what is your take on debt? Should We pay off the 40k debt we have before purchasing property?

Thank you!
