Looks like a sweet build! What's the project going to cost him overall and are there any hoops to jump through with the FHA financing in his case? I'm making my way through @Scott Trench's book Set for Life and wondering if many people are doing this.  It seems like an extra level of flexibility, and a unique way of customizing you living situation, while still maximizing the benefits of the house hack.
