Post: Derelict Foreclosed House - advice

I took a drive around the area I live today (Driving for Dollars) and stumbled onto a property that caught my eye.  It has evidently sitting empty and looks extremely run-down. I did some research and found that it was foreclosed more than a year ago and has been vacant since that time.

I searched through the court records and found the details of the foreclosure - is it ok to contact the bank to see if there is any interest to sell this property?

I have no idea yet of the likely costs to renovate but it looks like it could be worth finding out more.

Does anyone have any advice on next steps I could take?

My name is Andrew I am a British expat, living near Cincinnatii, Ohio. I currently work in small town Indiana, midway between Cincinnati and Indianapolis. I have a well-paying job but have realized that my 401K will be the answer to a comfortable requirement - thank you Robert Kiyosaki!

When we first moved here from England in 2001 we were renting our property in England. Unfortunately, our property management company failed us and after several months of non-payment we had to evict the non-paying tenants. We lost our shirts in the process and sold the property (looking back a big mistake).

I am now ready to jump back into REI, this time with my eyes wide open and with the intention of pursuing this as a means to secure future financial security.

I am looking forwards to sharing my journey and appreciate all the great advice available here.
