Post: Emerging markets in Ohio???

Hello Everyone!

I'm a newbie investor based out of Medina County OH, and I was wondering what markets people have noticed are really picking up steam for investments? One thing I'm struggling with is to narrow down my search for the market I'd like to make my entry point into. I'm looking to buy & hold a multi-family property, and now my budget is anywhere from 100-200k. Considering house hacking the property as well. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

I am a new investor, just graduated from college and saving for my first duplex.  I am struggling with how to do market research.  David Greene points out you should look for population growth, job growth (and what kind of jobs), vacancy rate, average income, and building/construction permits.  I am finding it frustrating to find and collect all of this data, not to mention I don't really know what I am looking for yet.  Does anyone have a solid method for doing research?  Where do you go to compile your information?  How do you stay organized?  What increases your interest when you are looking at a new area?  Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I plan on attending my first REIT meeting for my area tomorrow night. I am a newbie investor who is still saving up money to eventually buy my first duplex. I am wondering what I should ask? Does anyone have any tips going into my first event with a bunch of seasoned investors? I am feeling a little nervous and overwhelmed, any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Should I go to a lawyer to write a rental agreement?  Or should I use a free one online and just make my own adjustments to it?  Thanks!
