As an investor the HOA fees can make your cashflow negative very quickly, again just my opinion. Plus they need to approve many things you may want to do with your unit, including if you can rent it out.

Hi Lucia,

I was looking for upcoming suburbs in the DFW on Zillow, but admittedly not a total expert at this haha..

I agree that HOA adds an extra expense, but maybe for a first time investor, a condo might be easier to start with (as the loan is smaller)?

Hello, I am interested in investing in real estate in Dallas, TX because it looks like a cool place.

I am looking at the Plano, Carrollton, Garland region as well as Crowley near Fort Worth. Are these decent areas? Would it be OK to invest in a condominium or single family home?

I have also looked at Sacramento, CA (visited a few condos there), San Diego, Hayward, and Las Vegas (also visited a few condos there), in the past.

Thanks!

Hi I recently went to Vegas and saw some condos in the area in the 100-200k range.

I am currently looking for recommendations for buyers agents to help me with the purchasing process; I am working with an agent at the moment, but the communication is not very good so I am looking for a new one.

This would be my first real estate property (for investment). *I am based out of state in the Bay Area in California, where property is very expensive.

Thank you.

Hi everyone! I am a recent graduate (25 years old after 2 years in Singapore army, British schooling system), and am back in the Bay Area as I grew up here some time ago.

My degree was in Accounting & Finance, and now I am looking at purchasing my first rental property (although probably not in the Bay Area as the prices are too damn high!).

Anyways I'm quite open to move to a new low-COL city, get a job in finance/accounting, and meanwhile buy a property, renovate it, and rent it out, and repeat it. If I can get a 15%-20% IRR and keep it going for several years that will give me 4-6X return on my starting capital + wages earned after 8-10 years.

My goal is to hit $4m by 40; buy a $1m house, $500k buffer, and $2.5m to fund a 4-5% annuity so I can travel the world in a jeep, car, boat, whatever and retain the optionality to stay at a nice hotel/ home-tel when I want to :)

Anyways if anyone in the Bay Area has the same goals, interested in construction/ real estate especially out of state opportunities, hit me up, I am open for chat/ whatsapp/ coffee or w/e.
