Quote from @Ruchit Patel:

For legal questions, please always go to a lawyer instead of asking a random person. I am not a US-citizen either. I invest in Florida. If you can't get a good lawyer, let me know, and I will share the contact of my lawyer.

Mr. Patel, thanks for your kind advice. I would highly appreciate the name of a good lawyer to get started.

Thank you so much.

Quote from @William Anderson:

A non-us person can buy here.  If you pay cash, buy all day.  For tax purposes you should create an llc and obtain an FEIN from the IRS.  You will still be subject to visa requirements.

Financing for a non-citizen is problematic.  It can be done with an experienced loan broker, there are a few programs that will work but interest rates are higher.

Decide where you want to buy, contact a real estate agent there, that person will help you through he process.  If they don't know, they can get assistance from their broker.

Thank you William, sage advice and will definitely look into all you have suggested.
Kindest regards!

Hello all,

Non-U.S. person investor here. Asking for book suggestions for how to go about investing in the U.S.A. real estate market, probably FL.

I assume, LLC for holding title, etc. But confused about legal restrictions on actually 'working' for the LLC, and tax issues, etc.

Any good books you folks could recommend?

Kindest thanks!

If you live in the USA but are not a citizen you should talk to a local real estate attorney so you can get properly set up.

If you live in another country, you could end up getting double taxed if you're not careful. You should ask a Chartered Accountant how to set up for taxes in your country.

Thank you for your reply and advice!
