Hi @David McHenry Jr. when was setting up my Airbnb in Scottsdale, I chose to use the service Avalara/MyLodgeTax to do my tax reporting. As part of their service, they applied for my Transaction Privilege Sales Tax with the state for me.

There is a monthly fee, but you can check it out here and see if it would help you: https://www.avalara.com/mylodg...

Also, they have a lot of good information on their site for STR owners and operators.

Hope this helps!

Hi Melanie, that's a fantastic resource, thank you! I have a question though, AirBNB collects the taxes, does that somehow interface with Avalara? Or is that redundant? Right now we're trying to get everything registered and it really is a tangled mess, I'd be happy to pay just for the service of getting everything registered, but if it also helps AirBNB in automating the tax side that would be great too.

Thank you!

Hi BP army,

I'm looking to invest in a property in AZ as part of a partnership to purchase a business there. Location isn't crucial, although in or around Tucson would be a big bonus. I'm doing my usual mountain of over-researching but thought I'd see if anyone in the BP community has some insights.

****What I'm coming to the BP community asking is what are some good markets to look in, just tips to get our search started:

-  Looking for AirBNB friendly areas (I'm from OR so we have a mix of short term friendly and then some VERY unfriendly counties / cities)
-  Path of progress / growing markets
-  Thoughts on Tucson itself

Thank you!
