@Eddie D Estrada I was a pitcher, started against you guys in the Big Ten tournament in 2018 and against Mr #3 Overall Max Meyer in 2019. You planning on staying in NC? I'm thinking about moving to SC when I start investing

Hey Kevin,

This sounds like a solid idea for getting started, though I am also still just getting started so I look forward to hearing other responses on the topic. Any way to reduce you living expenses seems like a good thing, so I'd say this is still a house hack!

Been thinking about doing the same thing myself, hopefully someone with experience can point us in the right direction.

@Marcus Hill I haven't started quite yet, but I'm looking to buy my first small multi-family unit in the next year, though I'm not sure it will be in Nashville. What are you looking to get into?

Welcome to the community, Marcus! As you already know, plenty of good stuff and good people on this site. You definitely have the right idea in starting with real estate to real financial independence.

What kind of music do you perform? My girlfriend drags me out to Broadway every now and then, and I do enjoy listening to all kinds of live music.

Best of luck to you!

Post: Best Job for Learning Real Estate

Hi everyone,

As my other part-time job (sport-based) does not seem like it will be happening this year, I'm looking to get a part-time job in real estate as I continue to learn before investing myself. My question is, in your experience, what is a good part-time job that will teach me real estate skills? And do you think that any RE companies are looking to hire in the current state of the job market?

Thanks for any and all responses!

Post: Best way to invest time & finances while in law school

Hey @Dalton Laney, love what you're doing here. I played ball at Illinois, and we had plenty of good match-ups these past few years. Video games didn't do it for me either, so this whole quarantine period I've submersed myself in learning about real estate, leading me to Bigger Pockets.

I love your ultimate goal of being financial free to do pro bono work; that is quite admirable and I love it. During this time that you're in law school I can't imagine you'll have a ton of capital, so finding a part-time job in real estate is the way I would go. Perhaps reach out to some realty companies or local investors and see if you can help them out. Let me know what you end up doing! I definitely want to follow your progress.

Thanks for the help everyone! @Mark Gliebe I would love to meet for lunch when all of this is over and pick your brain a bit if you're willing! @Michael Karpie I'm currently looking around Charleston/Columbia areas, but would love to hear more about the Myrtle Beach market!

Hi everyone!

I've been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcasts (starting with episode 1) for about a month now, and I figured it's about time to take action on the cringy "quick tips" that Brandon and Josh mention almost every episode. This is just a quick post to let you guys know that I'm loving what's going on on the site already; there is so much great content here.

I currently live in Nashville but am looking to invest in the Carolinas (likely South Carolina) in the next year or so. I'm currently a minor league baseball player, and I'm looking to mainly utilize the buy-and-hold strategy to create wealth from rentals. I look forward to connecting with as many people out there as I can, and I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions as I get closer to making my first property purchase!
