I'm eager to gain insights from Manufactured/Mobile/RV Home Community investors and developers regarding the current economic climate. As affordable housing remains a critical concern, these housing options have a significant history of providing value to tenants and homeowners. I believe they'll continue to be relevant for both homeowners and tenants as housing costs are high.

Prefabricated homes/Container homes are a viable option for affordable living in many markets. An answer to the affordable housing crisis can simply be put as: increase the supply of housing. However, there are a number of economic factors that contribute to dampening the construction industry's ability to provide a greater supply. Prefab and Container homes are a viable option to increase supply and provide affordable living. 

I'm interested to hear responses to this, would appreciate other's perspective and thoughts!

So you are going to have to decide where you want to be. The STR market differs from place to place. You had mentioned Austin, but I think you are going to have to get out of the city in order for it to work.

Have you read everything in the forum? There is a ton of info there that will help you get a better understanding overall.

You are going to have to get more specific. ADUs for example are allowed some places but not all places. It is highly dependent on the municipality. In Seattle for example, ADUs are legal but only for long term rentals.

If you are a whippersnapper and from your photo I think you are, you could look at doing a house hack with a 4 plex. Live in one and rent the others. Do an FHA loan for it. That should allow you to live rent free and probably make positive cash flow you can stuff into savings. Then after a year or so, move out, renovate the last unit and refi to a conventional then do it again with FHA.

You will build a tremendous amount of equity and assets that will cash flow for you, then start looking to branch out into STRs or whatever.

If I was a young man this is exactly what I would do. You could be financially independent in less than 5 years I think. Just my opinion my man!
