@Dan Rivers Thanks for sharing! A BLOC is from the bank I'm assuming? Ok so also should pay off the whole thing within 12 months?

Thanks @Jim Kittridge! Ok yes would look at doing another rental or potentially a BRRRR.

To do a home equity loan, that's similar to setting up the HELOC?

Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

Had a question on thoughts on if it makes some sense to do a Heloc to leverage some dollars for an additional rental property purchase?

I have about $200k in equity in my primary residence and am wanting to do something with it if possible. I just refinanced about 6 months ago as well for 2.8% rate, otherwise would look at a cash out refi.

Any options or thoughts are much appreciated!

@Tony Lin Thanks for your feedback. For syndication how do I get started into that if I was looking into starting passively and then going actively after awhile? I see that you are in both, how did you get started in Syndication vs single-family or smaller investments?

@Jon Schwartz Awesome! Sounds like it'll be looking great when finished up! Would love to see the results! For renovations are you putting your own cash into it or did you get other funding for it?

Thank you @Michael T. for your feedback! Inglewood is a hot area right now with that stadium coming in! Have you invested in other areas around LA?

Thank you @Jon Schwartz for your input and feedback! When you moved into your duplex did you and your wife do any upgrades to the rental unit before you rented it out?

Yes we have the same belief of wealth and on what it means!

Thank you
@Vanessa Ganaden for your input and feedback! Where do you live currently? Are you looking to live in one unit of what you buy or just have as an investment property?

Thank you @Aaron K. for your response! Yes we do have have some time to stay still with in-laws but definitely still a shorter term/temporary situation. I live in South Bay L.A area currently and we are looking at some areas in Long Beach area potentially for house hacking. Prices obviously are still quite high all over the Los Angeles county area and beyond so these cause some concerns on buying in California at the or close to "height of the market".

You still live in the IE currently? Have you owned rentals here in CA?
