The Slight Edge and Atomic Habits too.

 Thank you! I will add those to my list!

Hi all,

I am a newbie to REI. My journey started 3 weeks ago when I came across the bigger pockets. Anytime I get the chance I listen to the real estate rookie podcasts. I became obsessed with the wealth of knowledge and experience that comes from these podcasts! I read the BP's ultimate beginner guide and am just starting to read Brandon Turners "the book on rental property investing". I know that there is so much still to learn!

My main focus these next 6 months is to educate myself and continue to add to my savings for down payment and reserves. After 6 months my goal is to start looking and purchase my first LTR or MTR property (3-4 multiunit or duplex)

I am located in South Elgin, IL about an hour west of Chicago. Still trying to narrow in on a market so I would love suggestions.

If you’re in the Elgin, Aurora, Rockford, Dekalb or west Chicagoland area - I’d love to connect!

@Jaime Ponce Hi Jaime,

I'm new to REI as well. I'm in the same boat as you, trying to get my feet wet and build connections. Not sure where you're located but I'm in South Elgin, IL and would be down to connect! I like that you're driven and really want to surround myself with likeminded individuals.

@Amy Falson and @Michele Richard I can email you deals that come my way in the Chicago-land area(s). There are lots of motivated sellers out there. Wish you two the best of luck

Thanks Dee! Just requested to connect with you now.

@Michele Richard I am in the same boat as you. Brand new and looking to get started with small multi family rentals. I’m not sure where you’re located but I’m located out west of the city in the Elgin area. Would love to connect and maybe bounce some ideas off one another!
