Hello,

I am a landlord of a condo in Massachusetts and am considering selling while my tenants are still in a lease term with me. I think there may be some condo rules/by-laws that prohibit this (that when a unit is purchased it needs to be owner occupied first and a for a certain amount of time before renting). Not sure that they'd even truly enforce this if it was the case.  Do you have any experience that this could be true? Who is the professional I would ask about this to clarify?

Thanks!

Hi all,

landlord here in Massachusetts. I'm considering selling my property that I rent out but am in a lease with my tenant until next March. Is it legal for me to break it early if I'm selling? Any feedback or tips?

thank you in advance!

Amy

Hello!

do you have a recommendation for free electronic lease software where my tenant can sign electronically?

Thanks in advance!! And happy New Year!

Hello,

I'm a landlord in Massachusetts.  Am planning to increase my rent to offset my increase in charges over the past 4 years that I've incurred.  Do you know legally how much notice I need to give my tenant about this increase?  Her lease is set to renew in September.

Also, there's a possibility my family may move into this condo for a period of time, therefore asking my renter to move out.  Do you know legally how much notice I need to give her regarding this?

Any information or tips on resources are appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

thank you all so much for your input and suggestions!!  This was super helpful.  My end take away was that legally I'm not responsible however if I'd like to provide good customer service I may choose to support my tenant to get reimbursed as well as communicate amongst the owners and property management company.

I am a landlord of a tenant in a condo building.  A neighbor (who has a tenant living in their unit as well) 2 floors above's window fell out and crashed onto my tenants' brand new window unit air conditioner and her car, damaging both.  She would like $350 to replace the AC.  She does not have renter's insurance.  What in this situation is my responsibility as the landlord?  Simply connecting her with the landlord of the unit with the broken window?
