Select the address that's most convenient. Absolutely no truth to prior posts suggesting one address will provide greater asset protection than the other. BP members, please please please get off the bandwagon..... Anonymity is not asset protection and will not prevent claims from arising. There are plenty of proactive asset protection systems you should be implementing, anonymity is not one of them.

 Thank you!

Hey @Amir J Reichental

There are small pros and cons to this:

Home Address:

Pros:

  1. Privacy: Providing your home address keeps your personal information private, as it's not tied directly to your business.
  2. Convenience: If you're already receiving mail and other communications at your home address, it may be more convenient to keep everything in one place.

Cons:

  1. Risk: Using your home address exposes it to potential risks associated with the property owned by the LLC, such as lawsuits or creditors targeting your personal assets.
  2. Tax Implications: Depending on your jurisdiction, using your home address could have tax implications, especially if you're claiming any tax benefits or deductions related to the property.

LLC Address:

Pros:

  1. Asset Protection: Using your LLC address helps separate your personal assets from your business assets, providing an extra layer of liability protection.
  2. Business Image: Using the LLC address for business-related documents can help establish credibility and professionalism for your company.

Cons:

  1. Public Record: LLC addresses are often part of public records, which means they may be more accessible to anyone who wants to find information about your business.
  2. Mail Handling: If you don't have a physical presence at the LLC address, you'll need to ensure mail forwarding or a reliable method of receiving important documents.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your specific circumstances and priorities. If privacy and protecting your personal assets are paramount, using the LLC address might be preferable. However, if convenience and simplicity are more important, using your home address could be the way to go. Keep in mind its always a good idea to consult with a real estate-focused accountant who also does asset protection to get a full picture for more complex strategies.

Thank you!

In general, you will use the LLC as you are buying under. It is always recommended to use the LLC but in cases where you don't often check your mail then I would use my home address.

Thank you!

I'm buying a property under my LLC and the title company asks which address I would like for the deed and municipal documents.
Should I provide them with my home address or my LLC address? Not sure what are the implications.
Thank you!!

Irrelevant, whichever you want,

Hello BP community,
I'm an investor interested in distressed properties in Pittsburgh.
I'm looking to connect with Wholesalers that work/focus in the Pittsburgh area.

Please reach out if you have any interesting deals you'd like to share.

Have an amazing day!
