Ladies & Gentlemen,

Hope your week is off to a good start. I've had my license in CA (I'm in the Los Angeles area) since 2017, but have yet to start practicing. I currently have a full time professional job dealing with vendor contracts for a utility and I've gone to school for engineering. I would like to start my real estate journey part time (ideally working on listings that have 2 units or more) with plans of transitioning to full time once I have some experience with a few deals and can better navigate myself. I nearly bought a duplex a few years ago and that was a very insightful and informative experience as I found myself really digging and learning to the point that agents and loan officers didn't have answers to some questions I had on the spot. I say this to express my motivation and level of commitment to doing my best and really wanting to learn.

With all that said, I come here because while I can always go to the Keller Williams and Coldwells of the world, considering I'm starting part time, I believe it may be better for me to start with a broker who has hopefully had some of that big outfit experience, but has a smaller operation so he/she can better nurture me and help me and ultimately their business to develop. I'm open to starting with the bigger outfits, but my concern is that I may get lost in that space considering my part time contribution for now and the volume of other agents. I'm also open to shadowing and helping for a modest commission with the desire of taking on clients once I experience a few deals and the individual feels I'm ready.

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and if you're interested in possibly collaborating even better.

Thank you in advance.
