So my wife and I are trying to decide whether we should buy this property in Fullerton.

What are some of the experiences some of you have had recently? Specifically, is crime pretty low? Are the current neighborhoods occupied by quality people?

Thanks.

I'm digging the advice and support in this thread.

So basically, I have a few options that revolve around developing either an S Corp or LLC...

- Develop said entity in the state where I'm investing

-OR-

- Develop said entity in the most tax favorable state of one of my partners

I'm assuming the former is probably more along the lines of what I want to do.

Being new to Real Estate Investing, I'd like to mitigate my risk as much as possible out the gate. I decided to pull in a group of friends (none of us have a whole lot of money individually, but together we have more than enough money to get started.)

Something we're taking into serious consideration is the option to create an LLC to use as a means of acquiring property.

1) Is this a good idea?

2) Is there a way we can shape this LLC to be flexible towards other investments?

3) Is there a way to form this without shelling out to much money?

So I missed this discussion area when I first signed up to BiggerPockets! My bad... :D

My name is Andy. I'm currently located in Orange County after devoting 10 years to being in the Army. I've been out for about a year and a half and am looking to start a new chapter of my life with my wife in California. I'm looking for investment opportunities to improve our lives everyday!

I look forward to networking with everyone, especially with those of you in Southern California! :)

When are you meeting in March? A friend and I would like to attend. We're new and would like to get into Real Estate Investing.
