@Nicholas L. Do you just use an excel sheet with the actual values, or have you invested in any REI specific software?

@Keith Bolle I grew up and lived in Canton until 2019. If you have questions about the area feel free to reach out to me!

Hey @James Gill, I'm new to REI too and also looking to get into the Michigan market. I'm in the Bay Area but spent my entire life until the age of 27 in Southeastern MI! Thanks for creating this post!

@Drew Sygit thank you for the referal! Finding a good PMC is definitely on my radar of things to find before even considering buying a property. As i know the SE Michigan area well I will keep your company in mind. I would love to invest back in my home state (:

@Account Closed I'm not an accredited investor. I'm really just starting on this path. I'm reading books, listening to podcasts, and just trying to soak in all the information and advice I can before taking the plunge. I have thought about turnkey properties, but it's hard to tell if the company selling it is legitimate and really doing their due diligence. I'm always open to referrals if you have some good ones. I'm really just trying to build a good foundation of resources and knowledge right now. My short term goal is to get my first property in the next 1-2 years. (: My long term goal is to acquire 5-10 properties in the next 7-10 years to build a decent stream of cash flow.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome and advice! I’ll definitely look to building out a team before investing.

Re: Sean - I grew up in the Ann Arbor/Plymouth-Canton area. I know that market fairly well and would love to invest there, as it would be easier for me to fly out and see properties/make connections.

Hey everyone! My names Amanda, I’m 28 and want to get into real estate investing in the next 1-2 years. My goal is to purely build passive income that can help allow me to not need to work a 9-5 job. I live in the Bay Area, so prices locally are way too expensive for me here. I would love to start investing in the south east or Midwest markets. I grew up in Michigan and have a fair idea of the Midwest markets. Honestly being new to it all I feel clueless and long distance seems more complicated than local investing. I’m not looking for crazy schemes to get 100s of units. I’m really looking to slowly build from 1 to 10 Units during my 30s. If anyone can link me to good forum pages or resources on long distance investing, or has tips for Bay Area investing i would be really appreciative of any help. If you’re a Bay Area local and have tips I’d be more than happy to buy you and coffee and chat about real estate once things open back up.

Looking forward to growing on bigger pockets with all of you!
