@Evan Polaski Wow! that's some very good advice! I just moved from Atlanta so perhaps that would be a good start.

Hey everyone!
My family and I just purchased our first home here in the DFW area. With the market being as crazy as it is, purchasing this home was an absolutely insane process that thankful we made it to the end. Our goal now is to purchase our investment property, preferably multifamily. However, I am nervous that DFW won't be the ideal place to find one. Does anyone have any advice on which markets are promising right now or what we should be doing to reach this goal?

Hey there everyone =)
My name is Alysha and I am currently at the beginning stages of my investing career, remember how scary that time was?! Well the first book I started reading was/is "How to Invest in Real Estate" by Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner. I'm currently reading about how to overcome fears and step one says to "Develop a plan and work that plan everyday". Hmm, well in total transparency, I don't even know where to start a plan!
My question for you is, what is your plan that you work everyday? Whether your'e a newbie like me or a big city developer. What are your daily do's? For me, I currently read a lot whether its this book or the forums. But I know or feel I should be doing more.
In addition, in the same chapter the authors say to "Watch Others" that "by associating with investors who are involved in the same kind of investing you want to get into, you will naturally begin to pick up on the traits that make them successful". With that being said, if there are any investors in the Dallas Fort Worth area, I would love to work for you for free, nights and weekends. =) I am currently really interested in the brrrr strategy however, I do feel like getting my feet wet in any investing would be beneficial.

Hey everyone! My name is Alysha Johnson and I am just starting out with my investing portfolio and thought who better to start it with than you all!
My family and I recently moved to Dallas, Texas from Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently a second grade teacher looking to turn real estate into my full time day to day career. I would me great if you all could help me out with 2 things.
1. I have asked my lender to recommend a good place to invest here in Texas. He advised Waco, Texas. I'm wondering if anyone else may have some insight on key areas in Texas that I should look into?
2. What is your number one advice you would give to a newbie?
Looking forward to connecting with you all =)

I am a first time home buyer and after purchasing my first home (home of residence), I’ll have 25,000 left. I don’t know if that’s a lot but my goal is 2-3 rental properties.
What should I do with my $25,000?
