@Remington Lyman

Thank you Remington and Trent and everyone helping out.

Franklinton has really captured my imagination. I have read a few articles and have looked at the area and I see a ton of potential with all the development and investment happening in the area. Does anyone have any advice or bewares about homes in the area? I see they are older, in the 1900s but, with updates being made should not be a problem pending a good inspection.

Are there any flood issues? Do homes here need flood insurance?

Are these homes safe? I am seeing that there are some expensive homes right next to homes that are vacant and would like some insight.

I also saw the city is approving zoning for development with minimal parking spots than typically required. I am thinking of targeting homes with parking or a garage as a must. Am I on the right path?

@Zac Mckenzie

Hello Zac,

Thanks for the feedback.

I would need to live in it, and won’t be selling it for at least four (4) years. This is my very first home purchase. Although I am a Project Engineer/ Project Manager in construction by trade. I have limited experience but, between me, help from my dad who has a lot for experience in construction, and me not being in any rush (doing this on the side while I live in it) I am open to doing this. I plan to flip houses down the road eventually on the side, so I thought this would be a good first experience.

Hello all.

I am currently searching for a SFH or Condo to purchase in Columbus. I have a brief idea about the neighborhoods but, thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Some preferences I have are:

  • - Most important thing to me is a safe neighborhood. Minimum Class B
  • - Within Max 20-25 minutes of OSU
  • - I don’t mind a slightly older home or doing some rehab.
    - Looking for an up and coming neighborhood that is growing.

    My budget is $150k which is low, but, I’m hoping with the current state of events I can find something decent. Any feedback/insight into the Columbus market is appreciated.
