Post: How To Tell if you Have a good RE agent

Hey BP

I picked a RE agent somewhat randomly which is now causing me to question that choice. Essentially he was referred to me by a coworker who only knew him socially.

Now it's been a few months and I finally narrowed down my area and price range. I have placed an offer on a property at full ask expecting to get at least a fast counter. It's been 3 days and still no response.

My agent seems to be making contact frequently to keep on top of the issue but they are ignoring him supposedly.

It seems like if my agent wanted to really push he could try more creative approaches like calling the sellers agent office and getting him on the phone indirectly that way. However I am unaware of the tricks of the trade.

All that being said, it makes me question if he is the right choice, and what more seasoned investors think/look for.

Hey BP,

I learned about this website roughly two weeks ago while searching for RE podcasts. It's been a great motivational tool for me as I work a full time corporate job which has never interested me outside of the good pay. I have a huge interest in RE focusing on short sales, flipping, and seller financing. I would love to get involved outside of work, learning and working for a mentor in the area. I have always been a hard worker and team player. I don't intend to rush but I do have a ten year outlook with preliminary goals that I want to meet. Finally please check out my profile for more personal details or to connect!

One thing to add, I really appreciate this site for the amount of daily activity and pertinent information to the industry. Thank you Josh and Brandon for keeping this ship afloat.
