Thoughts on purchasing RE out of your home state?(financials don't make sense in your immediate area). Pros and Cons. Thanks.

@Keino Chichester: me too. I've been hoping to geek out on REI financials. Numbers are fascinating to me. Looking forward to meeting up.

@Quarn Corley: Bronx triplex located in the South Bronx was the first bought as an FHA with a hefty HUD subsidy with a life of 25 years. The interest rate was high at 6.25%, but with price reduction due to subsidy the financials are amazing. Best of luck.

Hi all, my name is Alfredo and I am happy to have stumbled upon the BP site (by way of Jason Hartman Podcast). I have some experience with REI as I own two multifamily properties (a fourplex and a triplex) one in the Bronx and the other in Brooklyn, NYC. I did in recent years hold (now expired) a NYS real state sales agent license, actually I pursued it to both learn about real estate and to apply my commission into the purchase of my most recent home. I manage my fourplex in BK and share the property management responsibilities of the BX property with an employee. I am a HS mathematics teacher by day and hope to grow my number of doors. I am here to learn and absorb as much as possible.
