Anyone have a contractor in/near Michigan City IN they have used in the past? Have a fourplex I'm going to purchase through the FHA 203K. The contractor I use is the guy selling me the building and FHA rules don't allow that.

Or does anyone have any idea on how to get around this?

I was just told that I do not need to hire a lawyer when buying property in Indiana. I’ve bought multiple prop in Chicago IL but have always used a lawyer to close.

Has anyone ever purchased and closed on a property without a lawyer? If so what documents and forms am I responsible to get? And what is the seller responsible for? Thanks in advance.

I am looking to start buying in Michigan City IN. My family is opening a restaurant there and want take this opportunity to start buying in the area. I am from Chicago and own a few properties here but am looking to expand in MC IN. Can anyone put me in contact with wholesalers, and realtors in this area.

I have a seller who is tired and wants to get rid of his five unit building. He is entertaining Owner Financing. I am meeting with him later and need to understand it so I can help him feel comfortable with the deal. Questions right off the top of my head are: How much should I offer as a down payment? How long does he hold the loan? And when do I refinance it to pay him off.
