Russell, thank you very much. That information is very helpful. One more question hopefully last one in this chain. The zillow rent estimate, I found is very accurate for  smaller houses / townhouses in 300-400K range typically showing rent between $1800-$2300 . I hardly see any houses showing rent estimate of $3000 or more. Is it because enough data is not available or rent is higher than estimate for bigger / expensive houses? Thanks again.

Russell and Jack, thank you very much. It is very helpful.  Russell if you don't mind can you share what will be the current price of houses that is renting for $3100 and $3300. If you don't want to share I understand. Is it easy to rent in $3000 range continuously ?

Thank you very much to everyone that responded. I am giving some more details about what I am looking for and I will appreciate advice.

I was planning to buy a property in 350K -450K range in Howard or Montgomery County.  Is this even a good idea or a complete no no?  I don't see much cash flow. But I am not looking into Baltimore city or any rough neighborhood.  I have a full time job and simply don't have much time to hassle.

Will like to hear from gurus what my options are.

Thanks in advance to everyone who provide valuable information here .

I am new to investing in rental properties. Although I own a rental condo for few years I am now getting serious about buying few rental properties in or around DC / Baltimore area. I will appreciate any advice on what to prefer / avoid.

Any advice on condo vs townhome will be appreciated also. Some condos in the price range 350K -450K have fees as high as $500. Is that normal?

I am also willing to meet / network with anyone local.
