Just a quick introduction. I was born and raised in the NYC area and have been interested in real estate since I was in high school. I work in Accounting for a large alternative investment firm in Manhattan and am finally actively looking for an investment property with two other partners.
We are looking to invest in Union City or Jersey City (Bergen-Lafayette/Journal Square). In Jersey City it must be within walking distance to the light rail or path train. The market we are trying to target is professionals that work in Manhattan and are trying to get more for their money. Our target price is between $100 - $200 thousand and require partial to full rehab. Initially, we are trying to flip houses, and mix in some rentals in the future.
We have had issues finding good real estate agents who are honest and know the market in this area well. It would be great to discuss or meet up with individuals who have been in this game for a while or get a good agent recommendation.
