@Jordan Moorhead Fantastic, I will check those out and plan to come out.

I haven't bought yet. I have thought about that and it would be ideal. I know that multifamily homes are pretty scarce in Austin but I was actually driving in an area that had a ton of them in a neighborhood that I am going to do some more research in. I've thought about an ADU and maybe I just need some clarification on the Airbnb rules for Austin but I thought there was something in there that wouldn't allow for that, something about shared bathroom or something.

Hey everyone!

Just joining BP and excited for this upcoming year. I've been consuming as much content as possible and have a goal for 3 properties this year. Every time real estate has come up over the last 3-4 years I get this deep excitement in me but never took the step to learn anymore, I really just hung onto what other people were doing and admired what they were building.

Now that I have been listening to podcast, reading books, and telling people I am getting into real estate investing, the excitement grows and grows. Super thankful already for this community.

My wife and I are getting pre-approved this week and will be buying our first home in the next 2-3 months. The idea is to do some rehab to either section off part of the house or build out a room to airbnb (also planning to start a family this year so didn't want someone going in and out of our living space).

Either we can build up equity in that property to refi into a multifamliy home or get creative for the second property which would be strickly a rental. The plan is to find a multifamily we can BRRRR and have a second multifamily by the end of 2022.

It feels ambitious but we are really excited. I'm planning on going to real estate meetups in the area (I'm in Austin, TX), does anyone have any tips for starting conversation/building relationships as I'm just starting out at these events? Thanks in advance!
