@Frederick P wallberg

PG seemed like a relatively good option for me given the circumstances of rental prices right now. I also think that with such a heavy industry presence, the need for housing will always be there. I definitely agree with you though.

What’s the best way to find a realtor in BC? Just keep asking around?

Prince George is where the units are. I am currently living in Vancouver.

Hi everyone,

I'll preface this post by saying that I am incredibly new to the real estate market. I have been following BP for quite some time and reading posts and trying to learn the lingo, but I have not yet made a move and I'm hoping that will change soon.

So, I am looking at a multifamily home in British Columbia. I currently do not have a real estate agent that I am working with but I have sent a few emails back and forth to the seller. Basically, I'm wondering if I should be finding an agent for my first purchase or if it is easy to work through everything on your own? I don't really know who to connect with or who to talk to because I am so new.

I'm trying to run the numbers right now and I think they make sense but maybe it's better if I get someone with more knowledge to look at this property to help me with things that I may have missed.

I would love to connect with people on here to learn more and maybe pick your brain about my many different questions.

Thanks BP community :)

Alex

Hello BGP community!

I am a first-time homebuyer (27 y/o) living in Vancouver, BC. My girlfriend and I are looking for our first move and have yet to come to a decision on what move we want to make I initially thought I would purchase an apartment or condo and begin renting it out, however, the numbers just don't seem to work in the places I've looked in BC (Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria). My girlfriend has an architecture diploma as well as an interior design degree so we've been thinking more about having our first property be a flip property that we would live in for a few years and fix up.

I still have so much to learn and I don't want to come here and just straight up ask for the answer. I know I still have much more research and reading to do, so what I am asking is if anyone can give me any suggestions on books to read or other resources to look at? Also, if anyone does have any suggestions for a first-time home buyer on what a good move would be with the markets right now that would end up being a bonus. We are likely looking to purchase in 1-2 years.

Thank you, everyone. I look forward to connecting with all of you!
