Post: Intersection of FI and REI: What is Enough

Hey BP!

I finished reading Your Money or Your Life a couple months back. Of all the concepts in that book the one that really got me was "enough". As I've been diving more into REI, the one question I've put in the driver seat is "How many properties do I need to retire?"

Couple Questions:

1) Has anyone else been figuring out that number as well?

2) How are you arriving at your number? (processes, key metrics)

Hope this becomes a great discussion!

Best,

Alex

Hello BP! I am actively looking at different markets for my first real estate investment property.

Has anyone used the home price and rent price features on Niche.com for a given city or neighborhood to quickly gauge areas where the 1% rule is feasible?

Has anyone come across other sites that allow you to compare home price to rent prices across neighborhoods for a particular city?

Thanks!

Best,

Alex

Hello BP Community!

I'm looking to invest in real estate out of state.

I've been saving up for a down payment on a rental property and I was wondering if there is any benefit to hiring a real estate agent to help find properties vs researching on my own?

Appreciate any and all input.

Thank!

Best,

Alex
