I am in a very similar situation. Live in the Bay Area (Vallejo), planning to return to Florida in 2-3 years. Lived in Tampa for many years and still have a rental there. Hi Max,

Congratulations on the Ohio deal! You are making things happen and that is what matters.  I have to agree with @Spencer Haus on the deal analysis for the Victorian home. I currently live in Vallejo and have been analyzing deals around here for the last year. The yields for buy and hold as well as value-add opportunities are diminishing. Unless you are OK with low returns while you house hack, have some opportunity for forced appreciation, or bet on continued appreciation for the area, I think the deal is below average.
