first of all i want to say thank you for all the insight and suggestions. Some useful and some not. Second please excuse my grammar also sorry its taking me so long to respond. Anybody still fallowing im born and raised in Detroit. I worked for Chrysler in Dundee mi. i know a little about how they manipulate people for job positions. There is a lot of amazing areas in Detroit that are being built up. Beautification programs new business incentives and just all around locals that only spend their money in Detroit. im one of them. i know of a few areas that have very high market values right now, and a house that just sold for 200k in the Jefferson Chalmers area. i keep my boats in downtown at the marina. one thing we are lacking tremendously on is the school districts. and thats a huge down fall for people wanting to raise a family in Detroit. i have a lot of friends that only want to live in Detroit. and im looking at getting them into their own rental properties under my control.to help them get away from cost of high rent apartments or slum lords who dont take care of the property. im looking at some things this week. just to get started and learn and then move into different markets. example commercial multi family or land. im not sure yet but i have to start some where. ive owned several business in my past and i did really well with them and now its time for a new venture...

So ima newbie from Detroit and with the new chrysler plant under way for construction I'm think of land grabbing rental properties and flips in the detroit area but dont know where to start should I get super cheap properties that need alot of work and appraise for little and sit on them or what
