I’m in a similar situation. I bought a foreclosure with the intention of renovating and holding. I’ve had it for a little over a year and planned to have it rented by now but life happened so I haven’t really done much of anything with it. The original owner called and offered to buy it back mainly bc he owns the adjoining land and the home sits on it about 5 feet of his property. Considered an easement but he’s not very friendly so I don’t think that’ll work. Additionally, I share a driveway with the other neighbors (who also happen to be their family and they are hoarders).

I’m a newbie and I came across 1031 exchange... I’m wondering if this is a little advanced for me and I should just sell it and pay taxes now.

Hey hey! Is this group planning to meet up again? Perhaps via zoom due to Covid?
