Quote from @Jennifer Torres:

@Preston Garcia I called every person who bought a property near mine up to a year out.  Every out of town owner I spoke to had a similar experience.  Within less than a year most had already sold their properties.  Some were still dealing with evictions and one couple relocated there to get a better handle on things themselves.  Just as Collin said anything under $100k will be in bad shape, but I've seen the same $60k houses go for $130k recently.  They are in the worst areas and with bad tenants.  Since NY is a tenant friendly state it can take 6+ months to get a non paying tenant out, if you can get them out.  Also, BP just released an article about NY's new eviction bill.  It's worth a read. Just here to give Wilson my honest opinion based on mine and the experience of other out of town investors.

Thank you for your insights! Have you try to flip in these areas? We are considering on flipping one of these 60k houses

Quote from @Gloria N Gear:

Hi Alejandro, I just had a new client (investor) from Toronto drive the short 8 hour drive to Indianapolis this weekend to do some research of the area with me.  I would be happy to connect the two of you and talk with you about my experiences with my other Canadian investors.

Thank you! We would love to talk to them! I will DM you!

Hi Alejandro,

Welcome to the community! If you do not have a US citizenship/green card, there are some complications investing especially financing so it's really important to do research. It would benefit a lot if you are able to obtain US credit, US LLC and US Bank Account. Best of luck!

Thank you very much! Yes, that's one of the motivations that bring us to BP we want to start with the right foot!

Hello community! I'm Alejandro and me and my wife are doing our research to start investing in the US. So far, we have shortlisted Columbus, Orlando, Indiana, Vegas and Rochester.

we live in Toronto and we really would like to connect with people like us who already started their journey to know about their experiences and insights of investing in the US!

We are open to meeting over a coffee, DMs, etc.

Have a great day!

Hello, I'm an out of state investor and I'm looking for referrals on a property management company that can manage my properties in Columbus, OH (zip codes 43213 and 43229 specifically). Really looking to get some testimonials from other BiggerPockets members. Let me know what you really liked about your PM. Thanks!

Hello Andrew! Have you got any good recommendations? I'm evaluating to invest in that area and I am researching on this matter!
