Hola

Yes PDC is a very popular destination actually. Very attractive to visitors from all over the world. The tourist area is pretty safe. Anyway, I tend more to recommend Merida because is nice, the most beautiful city awarded and here you can find all the services you need for a secure purchase. You will find amazing apartments & condos with amenities of high class. Starting at 350 k. As in PDC, a downpayment is required but you can make a direct deal with the developers which offers you a truthful experience. And here, I and my clients can recommend you good real estate lawyers.  Anyway if you prefer PDC, please do not make a deal until you have a complete explanation from the RE, make a visiting the builder's offices and let me ask for good lawyers in the area. Saludos.

Is there any tips you could share about buying investment property in Mexico? I went to PDC last week for 5 days and was staying on 5th Ave and 30th St (NTE). I walked around the area. I like it there and feel safe, tho I did not walk around pass 20th Ave.

I saw so many new constructions and saw many brochures about PRESALE condo. I have spoken to a few RE agents when I was there and am thinking to buy the presale condo unit. But, I am a little worried about getting scammed and being a foreigner buyer. The RE agents told me to put down a small amount of money ($1K - $5K) to hold a spot of the unit I wanted. But, I did not want to do that. Should I hire a lawyer before doing that (paying $5K to hold the unit)?  should the RE lawyer a local one (lives in PDC)?

Do you know any great RE lawyers to recommend who has experience with American buying properties in Mexico?

Thanks so much as always any tips is very appreciated.

Johan

Well, I prefer to hear a proposal and decide. I really like the VA, so for me any fair deal is okay.

I founded this site while I was looking to learn how to promote my properties in Yucatan. Well they are not mine but as they were because are owned by friends and relatives. I think that my market (Yucatan and Riviera Maya) is a good option for investors. I just need to learn how to reach them. I will keep reading on your comments!! Thanks :D
