Hi BP! I have been doing some research on Loss Assessment Insurance for condos. I have a family member who owns a condo and has loss assessment insurance. He has gone through two large assessments (roof and flooding) and has paid almost nothing out of pocket due to this. I understand there are premiums associated with any insurance, but does loss assessment insurance mitigate the risk that keeps a lot of people from wanting to invest in condos?

Hello BP!

I am curious about lending options in the DFW area. Does anyone have wisdom to share about good experiences you have had acquiring a conventional loan?

Thank you!

@Dena Puliatti So would it be safe to assume that the $500k cap to 1031s would not affect most newbie investors who are looking to get into single-family, long-term holds? I imagine most that are starting out are not going to see gains of over $500k until they are pretty deep into their investing career.

@Ryan Blake Thank you for posting those events! I'm curious to get out and find a mentor/make connections, like Trent. Would love to be able to connect. I am in the HEB area but have lived in DFW my whole life and am thus interested in investment opps all over.

@Trent Danelski As a newer investor myself, I am in a similar place as you are. Congratulations on finding a mentor and I appreciate the words of encouragement! Excited to keep learning, making connections, and getting closer to that first deal.
