I am doing a partial exchange.  The relinquished property is sold this year, but the boot will not be received until next year.  Will my capital gains be taxable this year and due next April, or will my capital gains be taxable in 2023, the year the boot is received, with taxes becoming due in 2024?

You could replace the front door lock with a keyless smart lock so each tenant has their own unique code they punch in on the digital keypad to unlock.
