@Dakota Carroll welcome. The louisville market is great however you have to be careful when it comes to contractors feel free to reach out if you need a list of good ones and ones to definitely avoid.

I signed a contract with Juan and Kevin with Nueva Vista Properties to finish my unfinished basement. This was a BIG MISTAKE. We signed a 3 month contract but they took 8 months to "finish" the project. Even after taking an extra 5 months there are still multiple issues. Electrical isn’t up to code. I have two walls with no outlets on them and both walls are over 2 feet wide. One wall being in the kitchen and one being in the living room. We have countless spots of uneven drywall, cracks in flooring, and gaps in between the wall and floor.
On top of all that, there was trash left everywhere inside and outside of the house. I even found mold and bugs in our basement from workers leaving food behind. Our front door and window was left open numerous times. My cat even got out and was found several hours later. I’ve even come home with the house key unattended in the front door lock with no one in site numerous times.
Most importantly my 16 month old son found Juan’s utility knife in his playroom on the first floor when the work was being done in the Basement. Nueva vista properties are irresponsible, unprofessional, and unsafe. Please avoid them at all cost.

Any advice so this doesn't happen again in the future.

Hello i was wondering if anyone knows of a good local bank in louisville that is investor friendly. I currently have a property that has a balloon payment down the road but with rates being so low thinking about paying them off sooner. Would be great if the bank would be good with a 30 year note but so far the best i have found was 20.

Thanks in advance
