Thanks for the reply Cody. I do own a primary residence and yes I know there’s no magic pill and I’m willing to put in the time and effort. I just wanted to get a general idea of where to start and so I could go from there.

Nice! Is house hacking possible in your situation?

On another note, do you like reading? Biggerpockets actually has some great books on getting into real estate investing. I would say that if you don't have enough capital to get started then work on increasing your knowledge, skills, and connections!

I do think house hacking would be possible for me and those are really great points you made because as you said I don’t have enough capital. And I don’t mind reading at all especially topics that I like.

Thanks a lot for the replies. My profile says Calgary because bigger pockets doesn’t give me an option to say Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I’m not really a fan of variable rate mortgages because they tend to go up not down but I’ll look into it and see. I’ll also try to find any investor groups or mentors in my area and go from there.

Hello Everyone I’m new to this forum and new to the whole world of real estate investing. I’m interested in starting my real estate investment journey but I don’t know where to begin. For one I don’t really have much money and I also live in Canada (Saskatchewan ) to be exact where based on my knowledge there’s really no fixed rate mortgages here only variable rate mortgages. If there’s anyone here who could point me in the right direction or give me some guidance on how to get started I would really appreciate it.
