@Ajibola Talabi I've lived on the East side and South side and @Conner Olsen on my team had one up north by the Domain. I like to be within 20-25 minutes of downtown

Would definitely love to connect with you or someone on your team!

I’ll also connect you with @Joel Allen. He's a mortgage loan originator and can break down the FHA loan and how it might work for you.

I wish you all the best as you start your investing journey.

 Thanks man!

Quote from @Eliott Elias:

Most multifamily in Austin are in less desirable areas. If you are going to house hack, I recommend renting by the room.

Thanks for that advice! Is any area better for that than others? like where young professionals are? or by the college?

@Jordan Moorhead What areas in Austin do you think are good for small multi-family?

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Austin & I wanted to buy my first house within the next 6 months to 1 year and would really like to house hack but I don't know where in Austin makes sense. I'm still pretty young so I ideally wouldn't want to live in the middle of nowhere but if moving farther away (more than 20min) helps the price, that's fine too.

My first question is house hacking in Austin still feasible? And how are the duplex, triplex, and four-plex markets in Austin? Is there a lot of them around?

I guess need some guidance on the general market of Austin.

Also, I've heard a lot about FHA loans. Is that working in the current Austin market?

Hi everyone, I’m looking to hopefully house hack by the end of the year and have been hearing that FHAs is a good way to start it but because the market is so hot, it’s not competitive. Is this so?

Also how much importance do lenders put of the 2 year work history? I currently work as a software developer but my last 2 years before has been on/off?

Hey @Marian Allen if you don’t mind me asking, what made you decide on the north Druid hills/North Decatur area?

@Peyton Zachrich @Abraham Anderson I really want to get into the rental property space. So awesome reading about people my age doing it! How were you able to get your first property? Did you already have capital?

@Tyler Smith I live in State College as well for school studying environmental engineering. Been researching for a while now but now I want to take action.  I didn’t think there were many deals here until I read this discussion! Do you know of any reia meetings in the area?
