Thanks for the suggestions... We have asbestos in Drywall joint compound and popcorn ceiling stipple along with Vermiculite in the attic and total estimate for remediation is around 20k. 

Trying to negotiate with the seller.

We are getting the samples taken for proper testing.

The house is built in 1962 and we are planning to renovate it which would involve removal of a couple of walls to make the layout more functional.

We have a house under contract and inspection revealed that there is Vermiculite in the ceiling insulation.

A couple of questions if someone could answer from their experience:

- How serious is the issue?

- What would be appropriate remediation cost for a 1000Sqft bungalow?

- what are the chances of asbestos also present in the other structures of the house if Drywall joint compound, ceiling stipple, wall insulation etc.?

- have some one renovated a house with asbestos?
