Thank you for your responses. I want to add an additional floor. I have a full walk out basement. The house was built in the late 50's with metal support columns. Pretty solid. Not really interested in adding out as much as adding up. looking to add a master suite with bath, loft and a library. 

Hello. I want to raise my roof on 1250 ft ranch. At the moment, it is about 4ft. from attic floor to rafter. What is the average cost to remove roof and frame in new rafters and replace roof? thanks
