Thank You everyone for the replies ,  I know it has become more competitive due to new York city conglomerates being interested in the Columbus Ohio market which is much better but I am also interested in Dayton as it  is less saturated .  I will be getting in contact with some agents.  I would not mind doing direct mailers but I will go with an agent at first.

Thanks for the reply.  I have never thought of doing this.  I understand the reos are one of the best to obtain a property but I have noticed that many of the people bidding in the sheriff auction are new york conglomerates trying to get piece of the pie in the columbus area.  I do not mind flipping in dayton as I have heard this is one of the best places to flip in the US at the moment

My name is Ahmed and I have been living in Columbus, Ohio all my life.  I am looking to flip houses as I have sold my commercial property in the short north.  I wanted some advice regarding where to find the best deals.  I know the sheriffs auction is pretty good but i see many people using real estate agents to find there deals.   What do you guys think is the best option ?
