Hey Jayson thank you for responding. I knew I had someone on my IG I could ask about this but I could not think of anyone. I'm looking for a property near Anaheim, Fullerton, Tustin, Irvine, Buena Park etc. I believe Anaheim might be strict since Disney is there. Do you know if the others are more lenient? We want to buy as owner occupied so that we can put as little down as possible. Rent it out as an STR when we are not using it to cover the mortgage and bonus cashflow although our main objective is to have it pay itself. Then have the flexibility of using it for ourselves when we have the chance. Maybe for a week every other month or so.

Hello,

I know that STRs are not allowed in Orange County and only midterm rentals are allowed. However, I wanted to jump on here and ask if anyone knows of a work around or "loophole" to be able to have an STR in Orange County.

Goal: own a STR in Orange County that I and my family can also occupy as a vacation home. My wife and I both work remotely from Central Valley CA and would like to visit family in SoCal on a regular basis and an STR would be wonderful to stay in that we also own.

Midterm rental is something to consider however it would make it harder for us to cover the mortgage every month. Looking for another option closer to an STR.

thanks

@Jorel Gibson you don't need any money to wholesale. Tops maybe a couple hundred dollars. I wouldn't worry about an LLC either. You want to get your first few deals done and then worry about growing. You never know, you may not even like wholesaling. To get started I suggest you watch this video: https://youtu.be/AkMVSaN2YtA

@Will Gebbie

Hi Will. All of my deals have been out of state. The first one I did with the mentality that if I lose money that it would be an expensive learning experience. I suggest you build a relationship with a real estate agent and learn about the areas you’re looking into. If you have any more questions send me a DM.

@Frank Romine Hey Frank shoot me a text. I’d like to pick your brain about flipping here in the Central Valley.
