Hello everyone!

I have just moved into a new city (New Orleans) and want to get into the STR space through co-hosting and really become an expert in the process, what's the best way to gain exposure, connect, contact and gain clients in a new area.

All inputs are appreciated!

Quote from @January Johnson:

Second vote for @Avery Carl's book.  Also the Facebook group by the same name (Short Term Rental, Long Term Wealth).  Lots of free advice there.  Listen to her podcasts also - The Short Term Show and The Short Term Management Show.  Good luck to you!  I admire your industriousness!

 Thank you!

Quote from @Andrew Steffens:

+1 for immersing yourself and finding a mentor/mentors.

There is a wealth of info on here and a lot of knowledgeable people who would be willing to help.

Other than a book purchase I would avoid any courses, as the info is readily available if you are willing to spend the time to parse it.

Build a 1, 3 and 5 year plan and execute while remaining flexible.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! My goals are established, I'll keep surfing through BP and learning more

Hello everyone! I am turning 18 in less than 3 weeks and can say I have been a business owner throughout my high school journey, from small local hustles to building products in my basement to sell online.

I am an aspiring Real Estate investor reading many books and conducting hours of research hoping to build an impressive real estate portfolio in the future! I have picked up a curiosity and even passion for short-term rentals and hope to own my own STR property in the area of the University I am attending.

To learn more about the space and discover the opportunities, difficulties, ups and downs of being a host as well as funding my STR in the future, I have been organizing and building a co-hosting company with hopes of helping hosts relieve stress while at the same time discovering what it means to own an STR and what it takes to have happy guests.

I wanted opinions from real estate investors, STR Hosts, and even property managers on the difficulties of hosting, tips for my co-hosting journey, and especially, how to onboard my first client with no references and where to find hosts.

Thank you in advance!
