1000 square feet probably isn't something you want to tackle for your first tile job. If you find a good tile guy the time saved and knowledge is definitely worth it.

As far as how hard it is to get the tiles level, it depends on what tile your using. In general the larger a tile is the easier it is to get it to sit flat. Thin/narrow tiles tend to be harder the get level in the shorter dimension. (like wood-plank tiles) Also most tiles have beveled edges which help to hide any uneven edges.

Good luck.

I know my boss won't go below 20%. Other then that the sky is the limit. However I'm willing to bet someone would go lower if you could consistently bring them projects.

I would talk to a real estate agent to see what renters are looking for in the area. That way you know exactly what a tenant is looking for.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll continue to explore the forms and learn all I can. Also " The Ultimate Beganers Guide to Real Estate Investing" was incredibly helpful for a newbie like me and I would highly recommend it to others who are just starting out.

Hello, my name is Nick. Just stopped in to introduce myself.

I grew up on the west side of Cleveland and am currently living in Cincinnati and going to school at University of Cincinnati.

I'm just a typical college student and I want to start learning about the real estate industry so I can invest in the future. I'm primarily interested in flips and possibly some buy-and-holds down the road once I have capital. I'm interested in FHA loans or 203K's because of the little capital needed and I don't mind living, breathing, and sleeping with my investment. I'm looking forward to working on my properties myself and being very involved, at least in the beginning.

Just looking for any and all knowledge about the real estate industry. Motivated to get started this summer and at least meet some other young investors who could use a hand or two. Can't wait to get my hands dirty!
